Senior government officials, energy experts, and community partners will review Varanasi’s solar progress, honour contributors, and outline future plans to strengthen India’s renewable energy transition.
Varanasi, 14 November 2025
Varanasi is set to take a major step forward in the clean energy movement as it prepares to host a key Sun King event on 16th November at Hotel Castillo. The gathering will bring together senior government representatives, renewable energy experts, banking officials, customers, and field teams to assess the city’s progress in solar adoption and map out strategies for the future.
The event aims to highlight Varanasi’s notable strides in renewable energy—particularly under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, which has empowered thousands of households to shift toward affordable, clean electricity. Sun King’s on-ground achievements, the growing acceptance of solar technology, and the role of community-driven efforts will be central themes of the discussions.
Leaders from the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), along with banking partners and implementation teams, will review how coordinated planning and strong administrative support have helped expand solar installations across the region. The programme will also honour customers who have championed solar energy within their neighbourhoods, inspiring others to adopt sustainable solutions.
Speakers will emphasise how Varanasi’s evolving renewable energy framework is contributing to India’s broader mission of creating a secure, resilient, and environmentally responsible energy ecosystem.
As the nation accelerates its transition to clean power, this event stands as a pivotal occasion—celebrating achievements, acknowledging community leadership, and reinforcing the collective vision of a greener, future-ready India.
