Delhi Paralympic Committee President Parul Singh Extends Congratulations to Chandigarh DGP Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda on Receiving President’s Medal for Distinguished Service

Home Minister Amit Shah Presents Prestigious Award During Delhi Police Raising Day Investiture Ceremony

Parul Singh, President of Delhi Paralympic Committee warmly congratulates Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Director General of Police, U.T. Chandigarh, on receiving the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. This award is one of the highest honors given for outstanding service in the police force.

The medal was formally presented by Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, during a special Investiture Ceremony held in New Delhi on the occasion of Delhi Police Raising Day today.

Dr. Hooda is a 1997-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre. Throughout his career, he has made important contributions to law enforcement. He has supervised major operations, including arrangements for the G20 Summit, and has handled sensitive protest situations with professionalism and responsibility. He is also educated at Harvard University and has received several honors in his career. In 2013, he was awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He has also been appreciated for innovative initiatives such as the ‘Parivartan’ program, which was recognized by UN Women.

The announcement of this prestigious award was made on the eve of Independence Day 2025, reflecting his long-standing dedication and commitment to public service.

“We are extremely proud of Dr. Hooda and his remarkable achievements,” said Parul Singh, President of the Delhi Paralympic Committee. “His strong leadership, honesty, and dedication to the nation are truly inspiring. He has consistently worked towards the safety and well-being of all citizens, including persons with disabilities.”

The Delhi Paralympic Committee continues to work towards promoting sports and empowerment for Divyang individuals. The Committee appreciates and applauds leaders like Dr. Hooda who help build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive society for everyone.
