Amid Rising Geopolitical Tensions, Dr. K. A. Paul Calls for Worldwide Unity and Dialogue

Democracy, Dialogue, and Humanitarian Engagement Highlighted as Core Principles of Conflict Resolution

Kolkata: Speaking at the Press Club of Kolkata, Dr. Paul emphasized the urgent need for global solidarity amid rising tensions worldwide.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Paul said that India must play a leading role in promoting peace worldwide and highlighted that he has been engaged in international peace efforts since 1981. He referred to his recent address at the U.S. Parliament in Kansas on January 15, where he called for an immediate halt to global conflicts, along with subsequent interactions with senior international leaders.

He also mentioned the global peace rally held on February 22 in Chennai, where religious leaders and participants from multiple faiths gathered to advocate dialogue and harmony. Dr. Paul stressed that peace initiatives must rise above political affiliations and ideological differences, asserting that sustainable solutions can only emerge through cooperation among governments, civil society, faith institutions, and the media.

“Where there is peace, there is prosperity and development,” Dr. Paul said, emphasizing the direct link between stability and economic growth. He noted that cities that embraced peace and long-term planning have witnessed rapid development, adding that similar transformation is possible in regions that prioritize harmony and global collaboration.

Responding to questions on ongoing international conflicts, Dr. Paul reiterated his involvement in mediation efforts across several countries and called upon citizens, NGOs, and global leaders to act responsibly to prevent a wider crisis. He underscored that democracy, dialogue, and humanitarian engagement remain essential pillars for conflict resolution.

Dr. Paul also announced plans to organize a large-scale peace rally in West Bengal as part of his broader mission to mobilize citizens for global peace. He appealed to people across faiths and communities to join the Global Peace Initiative as peace partners, clarifying that the movement seeks participation and solidarity rather than financial contributions.

Dr. Paul also expressed his intention to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss global peace efforts and explore avenues for cooperation in advancing peace and development.

Reaffirming his commitment, Dr. Paul said that collective action and moral leadership are crucial at a time when geopolitical tensions threaten global stability, and urged leaders and citizens alike to stand united for peace.
