FICCI to Host Bharat R&D Summit 2025 in New Delhi

Leaders from science, policy, and industry to align national research priorities with industrial needs through collaborative innovation initiatives and technology showcase.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) will host the inaugural session of the Bharat R&D Summit 2025 at Federation House, New Delhi. Themed “Innovating Together: Industry–Academia Collaboration”, the summit will bring together policymakers, scientists, and industry leaders to discuss India’s R&D roadmap and explore opportunities for collaborative innovation.

The inaugural session will feature keynote remarks and special addresses from:

• Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India
• Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India
• Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, Co-founder, HCL and Chairman, Mission Governing Board, National Quantum Mission of India
• Mrs. Anandi Iyer, Co-Chair, FICCI Innovation Committee and Director, Fraunhofer India Office
• Prof. Sudhir Kumar Barai, Co-Chair, FICCI Innovation Committee and Director, BITS Pilani

The summit will focus on the role of industry–academia partnerships in strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem, addressing national challenges, and accelerating technology-led growth. Discussions will cover scaling indigenous R&D, investing in frontier technologies, and building stronger institutional linkages to boost global competitiveness.

The summit will conclude with a visit to the Research Work/Technology Showcase, where participants will engage with live demonstrations of innovative projects and cutting-edge research outcomes. FICCI expects the event to serve as a platform for aligning India’s research agenda with industry priorities and fostering collaborations that translate scientific breakthroughs into practical solutions.
