MERI Enhances Indo-Uzbek Educational Ties Through Student Exchange Programme

Interactive sessions, cultural participation and academic engagement mark successful visit

New Delhi: Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Management Education and Research Institute (M.E.R.I.), New Delhi, received three students from The University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan as part of its Student Exchange Programme.

The MoU aims to promote academic cooperation, cultural exchange, and global exposure for students and faculty members of both universities. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering international collaboration and strengthening educational linkages between India and Uzbekistan.

As part of the programme, three students — Bultakova Sarvara Nurkobilqizi, Nusraddinova Dilnoza Polvonqizi, and Israilova Aziza Abdinabiqizi — visited M.E.R.I. for a week-long academic and cultural exchange. During their stay, the students actively participated in academic sessions, interacted with faculty members, and engaged with Indian students across various departments.

The visiting delegates were introduced to India’s higher education framework, with particular emphasis on media studies and journalism practices.

Classroom discussions, interactive sessions, and practical learning modules provided them with insights into contemporary communication strategies, digital media trends, and the evolving landscape of journalism education in India. The exchange programme facilitated meaningful dialogue, enabling both Indian and Uzbek students to share perspectives and experiences.

Beyond academics, the cultural component of the visit played a significant role in strengthening interpersonal bonds. The students enthusiastically participated in M.E.R.I.’s annual two-day cultural fest, La’Kermesse, which featured vibrant performances, creative competitions, and multicultural showcases. One of the exchange students, Nusraddinova Dilnoza Polvonqizi, took part in a dance performance, adding an international flavour to the celebrations and earning warm appreciation from the audience.

Faculty members and students at M.E.R.I. extended a cordial welcome to the delegates and highlighted the importance of such exchange initiatives in nurturing global outlooks among young scholars.

They expressed confidence that continued collaboration would pave the way for stronger institutional partnerships.

The visit concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony and a cultural interaction session, marking a successful step toward enhancing global academic engagement and long-term cooperation between the two institutions.
