Cabinet Passes Resolution Condemning Red Fort Terror Attack, Reaffirms Zero Tolerance for Terrorism

PM Modi chairs emergency meeting; directs agencies to bring perpetrators to justice swiftly.

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on Wednesday adopted a resolution condemning the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s historic Red Fort, describing it as a “heinous and cowardly act of terror.” The blast, which occurred on the evening of November 10, claimed several innocent lives and left many injured, sending shockwaves across the country.

The meeting began on a solemn note, with the Cabinet observing two minutes of silence in memory of the victims. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, the resolution extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery for those injured.

Hailing the tireless efforts of emergency responders, doctors, and paramedics who provided critical assistance in the aftermath of the attack, the Cabinet commended their courage and professionalism during one of Delhi’s darkest nights.

Reiterating India’s unwavering stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism, the resolution underscored the government’s firm resolve to dismantle terror networks and ensure that those responsible for the Red Fort explosion face the full force of the law.

“The attack on the Red Fort is not just an assault on innocent citizens but an attempt to shake the spirit of our nation,” the resolution noted, adding that such acts would only “strengthen India’s collective determination to defeat terrorism in all its forms.”

Prime Minister Modi directed all security and intelligence agencies to expedite the investigation and ensure that every perpetrator, collaborator, and financier behind the blast is swiftly identified and brought to justice. Officials confirmed that the probe is being personally monitored at the highest levels.

The Cabinet also expressed gratitude for the international messages of solidarity pouring in from world leaders and global organizations, reaffirming global unity in the fight against terrorism.

Acknowledging the swift response of the Delhi Police, National Security Guard, bomb disposal teams, and fire services, the resolution praised their coordinated action in containing the crisis and protecting civilians.

With the National Investigation Agency (NIA) now leading the probe, forensic experts continue to examine the wreckage and blast site for evidence. Security has been tightened across the capital and other major cities, with intelligence units on high alert for possible follow-up threats.

As the Red Fort—an enduring symbol of India’s sovereignty—stands scarred yet steadfast, the government vowed that the tragedy would only fortify the nation’s resolve to emerge stronger, safer, and more united than ever before.
