“Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision continues to guide our organisational thought and national reconstruction efforts,” says Shri V. Satish
New Delhi: A commemorative event held in Delhi on Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s death anniversary saw the launch of Samarpan, authored by Chandan Kumar. The ceremony was attended by leading representatives from political, social, and intellectual circles.
Among those present on the dais were Dr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Chairman of the Integral Humanism Research and Development Foundation; Shri V. Satish, National Organiser, Bharatiya Janata Party; Shri Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party; Shri Ravindra Madhav Sathe, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Board (Minister of State rank); and Rajya Sabha MP Shri C. Sadanandan Master, who joined through a video message.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma said that Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya regarded politics not as an instrument of power, but as a path of service and national dedication. He noted that Samarpan offers young readers a meaningful introduction to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s life of simplicity, discipline, and selfless commitment to the nation.
Shri Tarun Chugh emphasised that at a time when global thought was largely framed by the competing ideologies of capitalism and communism, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya articulated a distinctly Indian model rooted in the country’s civilisational values. Integral Humanism, he said, is not merely a theoretical philosophy but a living framework reflected in governance and public policy. Initiatives focused on rural development, Antyodaya, welfare of the underprivileged, housing, food security, and social justice demonstrate the practical application of this vision. He commended the young author’s effort and called for wider academic study and discourse on the philosophy.
Shri Ravindra Madhav Sathe described Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s life as a journey from the individual self to the collective good. He expressed confidence that the book would inspire young readers to imbibe the values of service, sacrifice, and national responsibility.
In his video address, Shri C. Sadanandan Master, MP remarked that true dedication lies in placing national interest above personal interest. A nation, he observed, is shaped not only by its geographical boundaries but by its cultural consciousness and shared values.
Publisher Shri Ramakant Pandey of Sahitya Kendra Prakashan informed the audience that more than 500 copies of Samarpan had already been distributed prior to its formal release, calling it a notable achievement for a young author.
The programme concluded with organisers expressing confidence that this book “Samarpan” by Chandan Singh would serve as an accessible and engaging account of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s life and the philosophy of Integral Humanism, helping the younger generation connect with India’s ideological heritage. Dignitaries extended their best wishes to Chandan Kumar and urged that the book and its message reach a wider audience.
