Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Somya Gurjar met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital on Tuesday, engaging in an in-depth conversation on GST-2 reforms and the evolving development landscape of Jaipur.
During the interaction, Dr. Gurjar outlined the significant progress made in Jaipur, including beautification drives and infrastructural improvements led by the municipal corporation. She also emphasized how the GST-2 reforms have fostered a more stable and supportive economic environment in Rajasthan, benefiting both the common public and the business community through streamlined processes and greater financial ease.
Dr. Gurjar shared her experiences from her tenure in the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation, shedding light on the achievements of the civic body and the challenges faced by local governance institutions. She also discussed the financial framework of Rajasthan’s local bodies and the importance of strengthening their economic resilience for sustained development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Gurjar presented the Finance Minister with “Mera Jaipur Greater,” a coffee-table book documenting the milestones and initiatives undertaken by the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation.
