Mission LiFE Pavilion Captivates Visitors with Immersive Sustainability Exhibits at IITF

Immersive AR–VR tools demonstrate how small daily choices can create large-scale climate impact

New Delhi: At the 44th IITF, the Mission LiFE Pavilion has become a key attraction, showcasing how simple lifestyle changes can contribute to environmental conservation.

Set up as part of the national outreach on Mission LiFE, the pavilion uses interactive LED screens, motion-sensor walls, augmented-reality displays and virtual reality experiences to demonstrate how individual choices create collective environmental impact. Visitors are guided through themes such as energy conservation, water saving, reduction of single-use plastic, sustainable food systems and responsible e-waste management.

MoEFCC officials say the pavilion aims to make the idea of a “pro-planet lifestyle” accessible to the general public. Interactive installations show how small behavioural changes—such as switching off appliances, reducing waste, or fixing water leaks—can scale up to influence supply chains and long-term policy shifts, which form the three pillars of Mission LiFE: Change in Demand, Change in Supply, and Change in Policy.

The pavilion also features educational content on the origins of Mission LiFE. Introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021 and formally launched in October 2022, the mission seeks to encourage mindful consumption and discourage environmentally harmful practices. India has included Mission LiFE in its Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement, making it the first country to do so.

More than 6 crore citizens have taken part in Mission LiFE activities so far, with schools across India rebranding lakhs of eco-clubs to align with the LiFE themes. Initiatives such as ‘ Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam ‘ , the National e-Waste Awareness and Reduction Campaign, and citizen-driven plastic waste reduction drives are also showcased at the pavilion.

Visitors can also learn how to join the movement through the MeriLIFE portal and mobile app, which track participation in LiFE actions and provide guidance on sustainable practices.

With its mix of technology, information and hands-on learning, the Mission LiFE Pavilion is serving as a platform to connect the public with the idea of environmentally responsible living—one individual action at a time.
