Family raises alarm over safety concerns after assault on Radhika Oswal; seeks cancellation of bail and accountability for father-son duo’s alleged criminal conduct
The Oswal family has lodged a formal police complaint after Radhika Oswal, wife of industrialist Pankaj Oswal, was assaulted at her residence on 23 July 2025. The alleged attacker, Vishnu Menaria, is the son of former household employee Mukesh Menaria, who is now a fugitive facing multiple cases across countries.
According to the FIR, Vishnu unlawfully entered the property, physically attacked Radhika, and issued serious threats involving rape, acid attack, and murder. Police arrested him immediately and produced him before a magistrate’s court. Despite the severity of the charges, he was released within 24 hours on conditional bail, which included surrendering his passport. The Oswal family’s legal representatives have challenged the decision and petitioned for the bail to be revoked, with a court hearing scheduled for 25 September.
This incident follows a troubling history of legal disputes with Mukesh Menaria. In 2024, he accused the Oswal family of “kidnap with intent to murder,” leading to the wrongful detention of Vasundhara Oswal, the couple’s daughter, in Uganda. After three weeks of imprisonment, Ugandan courts dismissed the fabricated charges in June 2025.
Since then, Mukesh himself has become wanted across several jurisdictions. In Uganda, authorities seek him for filing false information and malicious prosecution. In Tanzania, he is accused of absconding while on bail after being caught with stolen family jewellery. In India, cheque dishonour cases are pending against his wife and son, while Vishnu also faces a defamation suit over false allegations against Vasundhara.
Vasundhara, speaking on behalf of the family, said:
“These false accusations and the recent attack have inflicted deep emotional and psychological harm on us. But we remain steadfast in our pursuit of justice. The truth will prevail, and those responsible will be held accountable.”
Now based in Europe after relocating from Australia, the Oswal family has vowed to use every legal mechanism available to ensure their safety and to confront what they describe as the “aggressive and unlawful behaviour” of the Menaria family.
