Dr. K.A. Paul Vows Legal Battle Against Corruption and Governance Failures

Announces public interest litigations to tackle judicial corruption and lack of accountability

10 July 2025, New Delhi

Praja Shanti Party founder Dr. K.A. Paul on Thursday launched a sharp attack on both the Centre and state governments, alleging large-scale governance failures and selective use of law enforcement agencies. He was addressing a press conference at Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi.

Citing the recent bridge collapse that claimed multiple lives, Dr. Paul said such tragedies reflect a deeper pattern of administrative negligence. “Over 150 bridges have collapsed in recent years. Hundreds have died, but no one is being held accountable,” he said, adding that both state leaders and the central government must take responsibility.

Dr. Paul also raised questions over the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) ongoing investigation into 29 celebrities in Telangana for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps for which he argued in the Honarable Supreme Court on 23rd May 2025 and the Apex Court directed the Union Government to file counter . While he welcomed the crackdown, he criticised the lack of action against individuals linked to the ruling political alliances. “Why is there no investigation into actors affiliated with the ruling coalition?” he asked.

He further referred to the Sigachi Pharmaceuticals case in Hyderabad, where dozens of deaths were reported and 8 dead bodies are still missing despite earlier safety warnings from regulators. “Even after documented violations, no senior executive has been arrested. This shows how enforcement is failing on every level,” he alleged.

Dr. Paul also expressed concern over what he called unaddressed judicial corruption and a broader erosion of institutional integrity. He stated that his party would continue to pursue legal action through public interest litigations in various high courts and the Supreme Court.

Calling on the public, media, and civil society to speak up, Dr. Paul said the country is facing a critical moment. “This is about accountability and transparency—issues that affect every citizen,” he said.
