In a key step towards promoting grassroots leadership and civic participation, top representatives of the People Forum of India met with Delhi Minister for Art, Culture and Language, Shri Kapil Mishra, to present their new national civic engagement framework and explore future partnerships.

The high-level delegation was led by Dr. Bhargav Mallappa, National Deputy Chairman (Administration & Organization), and Dr. S. Manimozhyaan, National Chairman. They briefed the Minister on the Forum’s internal restructuring plan, which includes a phased rollout of leadership appointments from the national to the taluk level, focused on enhancing public participation and community-driven governance.

Dr. Mallappa applauded the Delhi government’s efforts under Minister Mishra’s leadership, citing its achievements in preserving heritage, encouraging linguistic and cultural diversity, and promoting transparency. “The Delhi model is a benchmark for civic engagement. The People Forum of India is committed to working alongside such efforts by strengthening citizen participation at every level,” he said.

Minister Kapil Mishra welcomed the Forum’s initiative, stating, “The People Forum of India’s mission for civic empowerment and social responsibility resonates with the spirit of today’s India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we’ve witnessed a cultural and civic resurgence. I fully support this movement and look forward to collaborative initiatives.”

Dr. Mallappa also extended an invitation to the Minister to visit Bengaluru and meet with the Forum’s state coordinators and volunteer teams operating on the ground.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr. S. Manimozhyaan emphasized the Forum’s renewed vision. “We are building a citizen-first governance model rooted in transparency, service, and community involvement. Aligning with leaders like Shri Kapil Mishra gives momentum to this mission.”

The People Forum of India functions under the umbrella of the National Bharat Sevak Samaj, a public service institution established by the Government of India in 1952. With its ongoing structural reforms, the Forum aims to expand its volunteer force and boost its digital and civic outreach across all Indian states and union territories.
