Parul Singh Meets Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, Extends Invitation for Para Swimming Championship

Discussions Held on Security and Support for New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships

New Delhi: Mrs. Parul Singh, President of the Delhi Paralympic Committee, met with Mr. Satish Golcha, Commissioner of Delhi Police, to formally invite him as the Chief Guest for the 3rd Delhi State Sub-Juniors, Juniors & Senior Para Swimming Championship 2025. The event is set for September 14, 2025, at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Swimming Pool Complex, New Delhi, and will feature over 150 para-athletes competing in inclusive categories for sub-juniors (under 14), juniors (14–18), and seniors, fostering grassroots talent for national competitions.

The meeting also covered preparations and security arrangements for the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, scheduled from September 27 to October 5, 2025, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This 12th edition, the largest para-sport event ever hosted in India, will see over 1,000 athletes from 100+ countries.

Mrs. Singh underlined the importance of law enforcement in ensuring smooth execution and safety at such high-profile events. Mr. Golcha, in turn, assured her of the Delhi Police’s full cooperation in providing security and logistical support for both the Para Swimming Championship and the World Para Athletics Championships.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Singh said, “The upcoming championships will not only showcase the grit and determination of para-athletes but also reinforce India’s growing stature as a host of international sporting events. With the support of Delhi Police, we are confident of creating a safe and inspiring environment for athletes, officials, and spectators alike.”
