Rita Singh receives recognition for her contribution to the Indian Community in Chicago

Daughter of President’s Police Medal awardee J.B. Singh, Rita Singh, honoured for her decades-long contribution to the Indian community in the U.S.

Mrs. Rita Singh, daughter of retired Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and President’s Police Medal awardee Mr. J.B. Singh, has been recognised as one of the most respected Indian women in Chicago for her significant contributions to the Indian community in the United States.

Living in Chicago for the past 28 years, Mrs. Singh is the founder of several prominent community organisations, including the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), Chicago, and Women’s Empowerment (WE), Chicago. Over the years, she has played a key role in strengthening cultural ties between India and the Indian diaspora in North America. Her leadership has greatly contributed to community welfare, cultural preservation, and the empowerment of women.

She has consistently contributed towards strengthening cultural ties between India and the Indian diaspora in North America. Through her work, she has promoted community welfare, cultural preservation, and women’s empowerment. Her efforts have earned her deep respect both within the Indian-American community and among civic groups in the United States.

Mrs. Rita Singh, along with her husband Mr. Sanjeev Singh, has represented Indian values and heritage while playing an active role in civic and cultural life in the U.S. Her recognition in Chicago reflects not only her individual achievements but also the values instilled in her by her family. Her father, Mr. J.B. Singh, served India with distinction during his tenure in the Intelligence Bureau and was honoured with the President’s Police Medal for his service.
