India–Tajikistan Academic Ties Strengthen as MERI CIS Inks MoU with Centre for Strategic Research

Strengthening India–Tajikistan Academic Relations through Collaborative Research and Cultural Exchange

New Delhi: In a significant step towards strengthening academic relations between India and Tajikistan, the MERI Centre for International Studies (CIS) entered into an MoU with the Centre for Strategic Research (CSR) under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President, MERI Group of Institutions, and Prof. Usmonzoda K. Usmon, Director, CSR. The ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head, MERI CIS; Ambassador Rajesh Uike, India’s envoy to Tajikistan; Mr. Subhon Qurbonov, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan; Mr. Luv Aggarwal, CEO, MERI Start-Up; and other dignitaries.

The collaboration aims to strengthen academic, research, and cultural ties between India and Tajikistan. It includes organizing joint conferences, research projects, and exchange of publications on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Both institutions also plan to promote people-to-people and educational linkages.

Prof. Usmonzoda Usmon highlighted the importance of academic collaboration between the two institutions. Ambassador Rajesh Uike lauded Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi’s efforts in finalizing the MoU, calling it a milestone in advancing strategic cooperation.

Prof. Lalit Aggarwal emphasized the role of geopolitical studies and technology-driven education at MERI, noting its advanced programs in Cyber Security, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering.

Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi underlined MERI CIS’s mission to foster dialogue and research on international relations and economic studies, strengthening India’s academic engagement with Central Asia.

The MERI Centre for International Studies, part of the MERI Group of Institutions, serves as a think tank dedicated to research in international relations, strategic affairs, and global cooperation.
