Humanitarian Dr. K.A. Paul Exposes Political Vendetta Behind ₹8 Crore Tax Notice

Calls on citizens to resist corruption; vows peaceful protests if notice not withdrawn

New Delhi: Humanitarian leader Dr. K.A. Paul has accused the Income Tax Commissioner, Visakhapatnam, of unfairly targeting his church society with a ₹8 crore tax demand, calling it part of a larger political vendetta.

Dr. Paul highlighted critical issues with the demand:

The society, a registered non-profit charitable organization, is exempt from income tax under Indian law, served millions of orphans, widows, and the poorest of the poor in the past 4 decades .

With the case sub judice in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, this aggressive enforcement raises suspicions of external interference.

Other charitable institutions, like Sankara Muan in Visakhapatnam, have received condonations for delays up to 25 years, while this case was closed in 1999 and reopened again though it is delayed only six years—faces disproportionate scrutiny, suggesting selective targeting because of many reasons and my fight for justice for farmers, youth and women also banning the betting APP’s in August 2025.

Dr. Paul demanded answers on whether political forces in Andhra Pradesh are orchestrating this move to derail his planned candidacy in Jubilee Hills. “This smells of a deliberate attempt to silence a voice for the people,” he declared. He exposed systemic double standards, pointing out that successive governments have waived over ₹15 lakh crore in corporate debts while hounding humanitarian organizations that uplift the marginalized.

Addressing a baseless defamation complaint filed against him on September 21, 2025, Dr. Paul vowed to pursue legal action to ensure fair media reporting, in line with court directives. “Those who spread lies will face justice,” he warned.
Dr. Paul called on citizens, especially Jubilee Hills’ youth, to mobilize at the booth level against corruption and political vendettas. “I’ve fought for India’s democracy, secularism, and economy—from saving the Vizag Steel Plant to standing for farmers, women, and the unemployed. I will not be intimidated.”

He demanded the Income Tax Commissioner retract the notice within five days, vowing peaceful protests, including an indefinite fast outside key institutions, if justice is denied. Dr. Paul noted that this case echoes a 2007 politically motivated demand during the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure, when plotical donation not paid this income tax an absurd ₹22 crore tax claim. “This harassment must end,” he asserted.

At the end Dr. Paul said, “My life’s work is serving the poorest and fighting injustice. No amount of intimidation will stop me. I call on all Indians to join this battle for fairness.”
