MERI Holds 31st Orientation Program for Freshers

Faculty and industry experts share guidance on career, global opportunities, and skill development

New Delhi. 21 August 2025

The 31st orientation program for freshers of the Management Education and Research Institute (MERI) was held on Monday, August 18. The event began with an address by Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President of the MERI Institute Group. Welcoming the new students, Prof. Aggarwal said that life would present many challenges, and they must face them with patience and wisdom. He assured the students that the faculty would make every effort to support their academic growth.

Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, President of MERI CIS, highlighted the institute’s academic collaborations with foreign universities and higher education institutions. He informed the students that admission to MERI also opens doors for opportunities to study abroad.

Addressing the students, Ms. Poonam Chandel, Vice President (HR) of Gladwin Group, advised them to focus on academics and work on making their CVs attractive to secure placements more easily. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Deepshikha Kalra, Dean of the college, introduced the new students to the faculty members and encouraged them to join clubs for their overall development.

MERI College, affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, offers MBA, BBA, BCA, BAJMC (Journalism and Mass Communication), and B.Com programs, along with excellent placement facilities. The college is also well known for its creative and co-curricular activities.

Mr. Love Aggarwal, CEO of MERI Startup, also guided the students and advised them to make the best use of college resources for self-development. Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Aggarwal, Head of the IT Department, encouraged students to use the opportunities at MERI to channel their growth in a constructive direction.

Dr. S.K. Pandey, Head of the Department of BJMC, stressed the importance of practical training and skill development over theory in today’s education. Program coordinator Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Chhabra also addressed the gathering. The program concluded with an intellectual and reasoning-based activity conducted by Dr. Shikha Gupta.
