5S Farm Launches the World’s First Millet Sherbet, Reviving India’s Sherbet Heritage

Authentic botanical sherbets crafted through natural extraction and traditional blending

New Delhi: Taking a step forward in food innovation, Jaipur-based 5S Farm has launched the world’s first millet sherbet, alongside a refreshed line of traditional Indian sherbets crafted using botanical ingredients and ancient formulations.

Historically, sherbet—also known as shorbat, sarbat, or sharbat—held a distinguished place in Indian, Persian, and Mughal kitchens. Prepared using fruits, herbs, flower petals, and spices, it was considered a cooling, nutritious, and flavour-rich beverage. In the Ayurvedic text Bhavaprakasha Nighantu, sherbet is referred to as “Sharkorak” and categorized into two types:

  • Sheetpeya (cooling drinks)
  • Ushnpeya (warming drinks)

5S Farm has revived these authentic formulations and adapted them to meet the wellness needs and lifestyle of modern consumers.

Alongside the revival of traditional sherbets, 5S Farm has also launched the world’s first millet-based sherbet, introducing India’s ancient grains into a new era of health-focused, flavourful beverages. This innovation not only strengthens India’s food heritage but also positions millets globally as a natural, nutritious, and versatile ingredient.

Popular traditional sherbets reintroduced by 5S Farm include Khus, Rose, Lemongrass, Tulsi, Kewra, Brahmakamal, Heengjeera, and several other regional and medicinal varieties. All sherbets are crafted without artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives, ensuring consumers experience the true essence and natural benefits of Indian botanical ingredients. The brand’s meticulous process includes slow cooking, natural extraction techniques, and traditional blending methods, distinguishing these beverages from commercial synthetic drink options.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Sharma, Founder of 5S Farm, said that sherbet is not merely a beverage but a living representation of India’s cultural, Ayurvedic, and culinary heritage. He emphasized that the brand’s mission is to restore respect for India’s forgotten flavours and medicinal drink traditions, making them accessible for future generations.

Through this initiative, 5S Farm is committed to giving India’s natural, heritage-based beverage segment a new direction. In the coming months, the brand aims to expand its product portfolio, advance research-driven beverage innovation, and take India’s rich beverage heritage to the global stage.
