Ahead of February 22 Chennai Rally, Dr. K. A. Paul Appeals for India-Led Global Peace and Bipartisan Unity

Urges bipartisan unity in India, invites PM Modi and LoP Rahul Gandhi for Global Peace Rally in Chennai on February 22

New Delhi: In the context of 58 active global conflicts, Global Peace President and humanitarian leader Dr. K. A. Paul has appealed for India to play a decisive role in advancing global peace. Highlighting the need for bipartisan national unity and stronger India–U.S. cooperation, he addressed the media at a press conference held at Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi.

Referring to his recent address to U.S. lawmakers, Dr. Paul said that Republicans, Democrats, and Independents in the United States have agreed to work together on peace initiatives, and questioned why similar unity cannot be achieved in India for the larger global good. He reiterated that India, as a historically non-aligned nation with diplomatic ties across ideological divides—from the Middle East to the Korean peninsula—is uniquely positioned to lead global peace efforts.

Drawing on his travels to over 155 countries and conducted 2200 Peace rallies and Summits Dr. Paul said the world is looking toward India for moral and diplomatic leadership. He appealed for immediate national unity, stating that love for faith and country must transcend political differences. He emphasized that constructive criticism should strengthen democracy, not divide it.

Dr. Paul announced a Global Peace and Prayer Rally to be held on February 22 in Chennai, calling it a unifying platform for peace that will bring together people from across India and the world. He said Members of Parliament from the BJP, Congress, and 18 other political parties have already expressed support for the initiative.

In a significant political outreach, Dr. Paul formally invited Narendra Modi to attend the Chennai event as Chief Guest, and Rahul Gandhi as Co–Chief Guest, underscoring his call for bipartisan leadership in national and global peace efforts.

Separately, Dr. Paul welcomed recent developments in the Supreme Court of India concerning illegal betting and gaming applications. He thanked the Government of India, the Solicitor General, and the Chief Justice for acting on petitions he filed to curb betting apps and protect Indian youth. He urged celebrities who endorsed such platforms to voluntarily return endorsement earnings to court-designated funds to support affected families.

Addressing economic development, Dr. Paul called for coordinated efforts to attract large-scale global investments, particularly to the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu, stating that global capital is available if India presents a united and credible leadership front.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Paul appealed to citizens, political leaders, and the global Indian diaspora to join the “Chalo Chennai” call on February 22, describing it as a collective step toward making India a global beacon of peace, ethical leadership, and inclusive development.
