DD Kisan to Highlight Inspiring Journeys of Women Farmers on Women Farmers’ Day

On 15th October, DD Kisan will showcase stories of progressive women farmers, their struggles, achievements, and a cultural celebration featuring Rajasthani folk dancer Gulabo Sapera.

In celebration of Women Farmers’ Day on 15th October, DD Kisan will broadcast a special program highlighting the remarkable journeys of women farmers across India. The program aims to honor their perseverance, innovation, and contributions to agriculture, marking the tenth observance of Women Farmers’ Day since its inception in 2016.

The recording of the program at the DD Kisan studio was attended by several distinguished personalities from the agricultural and broadcasting sectors. Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal, CEO Gaurav Dwivedi, Doordarshan Director General K. Satish Nambudripad, DD Kisan Deputy Director Lokman Singh, and Program Head Rajkumar Nahar extended their greetings and best wishes to the women farmers featured in the program.

The special episode will spotlight eminent women farmers, including Padma Shri Rajkumari Devi (Kisan Chachi), Padma Shri Kamatchi Chellammal (Nariyal Amma), Vimala Sinwar (India’s first “Namo Drone Didi”), agricultural entrepreneur Annu Kanawat, Padma Shri Janak Palta for her contributions to energy conservation, and Renu Sangwan for her outstanding work in dairy farming. Their stories of determination, innovation, and success serve as an inspiration for aspiring women in agriculture.

Adding a rich cultural dimension, the program will also feature a mesmerizing Kalbelia dance performance by Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera, bringing the vibrancy of Rajasthani folk culture to life and celebrating its global appeal.

This special broadcast aims to both honor and empower women farmers, showcasing their vital role in India’s agricultural landscape while inspiring future generations to follow in their footsteps.
