PM Modi Launches ₹16,000 Crore Projects in Ajmer; Riju Jhunjhunwala Calls It a Boost for Developed Rajasthan

Ajmer: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched and laid the foundation stone for ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer, giving a significant push to infrastructure development in Rajasthan. The large-scale investment is expected to accelerate economic growth, improve connectivity, and strengthen public infrastructure across the state.

Reacting to the announcement, textile industrialist Riju Jhunjhunwala described the ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer as a historic step toward achieving the vision of “Developed Rajasthan.” He said the Prime Minister’s initiative reflects a structured approach to long-term regional growth.

Expressways and Corridors to Strengthen Rajasthan’s Infrastructure

Among the key highlights of the ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer are the Bandikui–Jaipur Greenfield Expressway and the Amritsar–Jamnagar Corridor. Jhunjhunwala stated that these projects will significantly enhance road connectivity, improve freight movement, reduce transportation time, and boost logistics efficiency in Rajasthan.

Improved connectivity, he added, will create fresh opportunities for trade, investment, and industrial expansion.

Drinking Water Projects and Public Health Measures

The Nonera and Parvan Akawad drinking water projects are expected to improve water security in several districts of Rajasthan. Jhunjhunwala emphasized that access to safe drinking water remains central to sustainable development.

He also welcomed the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign, calling it an important public health initiative aimed at protecting young girls and strengthening preventive healthcare.

Rozgar Mela and Renewable Energy Expansion

Under the Rozgar Mela initiative, appointment letters were distributed to over 21,000 youth. Jhunjhunwala said this move will help integrate young talent into the nation-building process and support employment generation.

He further highlighted the expansion of the renewable energy grid, noting that it will attract new investments, promote industrial growth, and generate jobs. According to him, the combined impact of these ₹16,000 crore projects in Ajmer demonstrates a balanced and holistic development model.

Jhunjhunwala expressed appreciation to Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and senior officials for their cooperation in advancing projects in the state’s interest.

Concluding his remarks, he thanked the people of Ajmer and reiterated his commitment to contributing to the broader goal of “Developed India – Developed Rajasthan.”
